MO: “It would use public dollars for private purposes.”
March 4, 2008 by libertyisforme
Missouri bureaucrats are against a tax-credit program that would give special needs students scholarships to attend better schools.
Here is their reasoning:
It would use public dollars for private purposes. - Independence Superintendent Jim Hinson
Huh.
How does that make any sense? Come Hinson and LeVota use better logic.
Let’s define tax-credit:
A tax credit reduces the amount of tax you owe unlike a tax deduction that only reduces the amount of your taxable income.
So, individual taxpayers can donate to a non-profit that in return gives scholarships to kids who have learning disabilities.
What a noble idea…giving kids a chance at a better education when their current school is failing them.
Oh, final note to Hinson and LeVota, you are using public dollars to pay for sick people at private hospitals and pay poor people to buy food at grocery stores, which are private too.
These two bureaucrats only care about the hungry and dying and not kids with autism.
What jerks!

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.
