Nevada: Casinos stick it to the teachers union
March 11, 2008 by libertyisforme
The gaming industry sued and won against the teachers union.
Celebrate good times, come on.
The union decided to submit a ballot initiative that would increase business taxes from 6.75% to 9.75% for the purposes of paying teachers more.
More!?! They get an average salary of $43,211, some districts offer performance pay, and the state finances recruitment or retention incentives for teachers of subject-area shortages.
What greedy teachers!
