I think Obama has more specific health care programs than Mc Cain. Mc Cain's health care program's are not very concrete.

I agree to some share responsibility between the government and individual rights for health insurance. It is a fine line, but ultimately health care is too big of an issue to solve in 4 years. It is best kept to the individuals to shop the market and fine the cheapest rates for health insurance.

How come american people do not make the presidential candidates responsible for what they promise? People believe on the candidates based on what they say and then vote...and then conviniently forget four years later and hear the same promises.

Why doesn't our free and best of the world media do any research onthis?

I did some research and wrote a blog

Alyce,

Thank you for your comment. I like hearing from the other side of the spectrum.

My only concern with your statement is that his plan actually will not lower premiums.

The way I understand this, please correct me if I am wrong, is that by government paying for our health expenses we aren’t actually doing anything to establish and stabilizes a price system in health care services.

For example, do you think a middle class woman who is on government assistance program (Medicaid or Medicare) will ask how much her visit cost? Nope, the government pays for it, she has no incentive to save. And if she has no incentive to save (and she is the one in need) then who will look out for taxpayers' piggy banks.

Also, a government run program doesn’t allow for an array of doctors someone can choose from. Doctors provide referrals. A person couldn’t pick a doctor based on being the cheapest in service. Someone could only use those doctors the Dept of Health and Families has stuck a deal with. What incentive to competition is there among doctors to save and innovative services, if the government will pay for everything?

There needs to be transparency in health care and Obama’s plan doesn’t address how he will lower premiums.

So, I encourage voters to really ask tough questions on his policy plan rather than falling victim to a promise of change that he can’t actually reform.
