John McCain’s Spanish website is a big deal
May 6, 2008 by libertyisforme
Friends,
Yesterday, John McCain launched a Spanish website.
This is big news! Drudge told me so.
Or is it?
After I read the Reuters story, I ventured off to McCain’s website to see why this was such a big deal.
As I suspected, you say “En Espanol” and the media bites.
The actual website is lame for the main reason that it fails to meet its objective - communicate with voters who are native Spanish speakers.
The site only speaks to Cubans and perhaps those voters who carry their handy dandy pocket translators.
The main page features video testimonials from four Cuban-Florida legislators and translated headlines that link to his English website.
Seriously, this was a waste of donors’ money and time.
Something that would be far more effective - than a silly website - is working the 2004 Hispanic voter list to get their email addresses.
Now that’s a targeted outreach strategy. Come on McCain — work with me here!

Go figure. John McCain reaches out to Cuban-Americans, the whitest Latino group in the U.S. Leave it to the Republicans to bridge the tremendous gap between Non-Hispanic whites and Hispanic whites, the only Hispanics who don’t make him nervous.
que puto.
