Arizona keeps figthing for school vouchers
June 20, 2008 by libertyisforme
Last year, the teachers sued the state saying the voucher law passed in 2006 was unconstitutional because public money can’t go to private schools.
The lower court said, parents win, unions - you lose.
Then, last month the court of appeals overruled the lower court decision.
Now, parents of foster and special education kids are asking the state supreme court to hear their case. The Institute for Justice, a pro bono liberty law firm, is arguing the case on behalf of 19 parents.
Amen for the Institute for Justice!
I hope that the state Supreme Court will rule in favor of parents because right now, as we speak, public money is used to give kids college scholarships to attend private universities.
If the court rules against parents, beware college students, your scholarships are at risk of being revoked.
