UPS is replaced by the United States Postal Service
July 22, 2008 by libertyisforme
Last week, I went to a UPS pick-up location to get my packages.
I followed the directions from 1-800 number bring a government issued ID. Simple, right?
Well, think again. Getting my packages was not that simple.
UPS has this bizarre rule, you must have an IL state issued ID and the ID needs to match the address on the package.
Well, I didn’t have either. You can imagine what happened next…
I went a little Latina and argued with a supervisor. The supervisor said it’s a city ordinance that helps fight fraud. There is no such ordinance. I couldn’t believe that UPS would create a rule that makes the United States Postal Service look better.
In conclusion friends, I will replace UPS with the United States Postal Service or Fed Ex, they don’t have these silly rules.
You would think that my government issued ID, which serves to get me on flights, would be sufficient for UPS.
I was mistaken.

Replace a private company with the government’s version? Horrors.
That’s exactly my point. UPS is looking worse than a government run operation.
