First, lets define earmarks:
Earmarks is a term used for when Senators and Congressmen funds specific state or district projects with your federal taxes. Another simple explanation, it’s a shady way of misspending your federal taxes in a state where you don’t live.
Some refer to earmarks as a “gateway drug” for a spending addiction.
